I am currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Front Office & Revenue Manager for our client who are in the hospitality sector based in Westport Co. Mayo who are expanding their rooms division.
The ideal candidate will;
- Have a proven Front Office/Reservations and/or Revenue background within a hotel environment, will be energetic and passionate about hospitality sales and service.
- Will work closely with the Front Desk to ensure the maximisation of all hotel bedroom sales opportunities, whilst maintaining the highest levels of guest service and guest satisfaction.
- Will manage the front office team to maximise revenue and optimise profitability to directly impact the success and growth of the hotel.
- Increase room revenue, implement revenue management operations, procedures and best practices, identify new revenue opportunities, optimise and expand distribution partnerships, and provide daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Continuously adapt to market trends, competition, and guest preferences to enable our hotel to thrive in an ever-changing industry.
Revenue Responsibilities:
- To embed a revenue management culture within the Front Office team.
- Awareness of current business targets, actual budgeted and forecasted business levels, and focus on achieving these targets at all times.
- Oversee the revenue management and distribution strategy for our hotel, create and develop room pricing strategies and manage day-to-day yield.
- Use analytical tools to forecast demand patterns and craft pricing strategies to optimise occupancy rates and revenue.
- Analyse historical data, current trends, and future projections to guide our hotel’s pricing strategies and revenue optimisation efforts.
- Effectively oversee and manage room inventory and distribution.
- Competitor analysis, environmental scanning, market trends, distribution yield management, business mix yield management, length of stay yield management, inventory availability by channel, pricing control and new pricing concepts.
- Ensure all current hotel systems and technologies are used to full capacity and identify new technologies, where appropriate.
- Evaluate the performance of distribution partners and contracted rates (OTA, FIT, tour operator, corporate, groups, etc.)
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with all departments.
- Daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting.
- Regularly check the input and the quality of data.
- Analyse and report on booking trends.
- Provide weekly forecast of expected results and budget comparisons.
- Conduct quarterly property performance reviews and compile reports in line with hotel requirements.
- Actively assist the Management of the Hotel in achieving financial and quality objectives throughout all the year.
- Work closely with Sales & Marketing Manager to ensure that the hotel is involved in all areas of marketing and advertising to increase the Hotel profile.
- Meet regularly with the General Manager and Sales & Marketing Manager to discuss Revenue and Strategy.
Front Desk Responsibilities:
- Manage the Front Office team and audit the standards and operations of the Front Desk.
- Take responsibility for recruitment, training, writing of SOPs, coaching, performance management and appraisals of the reservations team.
- Oversee the continual development of the Department tasks, by providing training, support, coaching and guidance to new and existing staff.
- Ensure all telephone and e-mail traffic is monitored and reservations appropriately recorded.
- Ensure all reservations are accepted, recorded and confirmed in accordance with Company policy and in an efficient and courteous manner.
- Ensure all guests are offered an efficient, courteous and professional customer service in accordance with our hotel standards and hotel strategy.
- Ensure that Front Desk personnel are fully competent in the use of all systems.
- Empower the reservations team to maximise room occupancy on each shift.
- Deal with customer complaints in line with company policy.
- Co-ordinate billing with the accounts department.
- Maintain excellent and constant communication within the team and the rest of the hotel departments.
- To liaise with the housekeeping department to ensure all guests requests are met.
- Be aware of, and analyse, all forthcoming business on a regular basis.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years’ hotel Front Office, Reservations and/or Revenue Management experience in a target-driven hospitality sales environment demonstrating a strong working knowledge of Hotsoft, Siteminder and hotel technologies.
- Strong commercial awareness and a good understanding of yield management and rate strategies in Rooms to drive revenue and achieve targets
- Highly innovative, with the ability to anticipate business needs and implement new ideas to drive revenue streams.
- Strong computer literacy with a high-level command of Excel, data analysis and hotel specific technology.
- Excellent analytical and numeric skills for fast data crunching and interpretation.
- Highly developed interpersonal, influencing and supervisory management skills.
- Willingness to work ‘hands on’ as part of our growing team.
- Sales-focused, with targets and results being key driving factors.
- Capability to keep up to date with market trends and sourcing new business.
