I'm recruiting for an Account Manager a global leader in fund services, corporate governance and related asset services with staff across more than 80 offices worldwide.
The successful candidate will be joining their specialised client services line where they service national and international clients with regards to their investment structures in Germany. These clients consist of German small and mid-size holding companies investing into alternative assets (such as private equity and real estate assets) and outsource their administration and accounting to my client.
Your Role
As an Account Manager - you will be the first point of contact for the client, third party service providers, as well as inhouse senior management and will be responsible for the accounting services.
You will report directly to the local Managing Director.
- Organizing, supervising and monitoring the general accounting and bookkeeping activities rendered to its German clients (LPs, GPs and smaller or mid-size German companies) according to German GAAP, (inter)national and industry specific accounting requirements;
- Organizing, supervising and monitoring the preparation of annual, quarterly or monthly management or investor reports for client companies, including balance sheets, P&L or other financial KPI reports; we would expect you to be able to correct and instruct the team of accountants and in rare cases you would do selected book-keeping yourself
- Remotely leading a team of accountants;
- Complete ownership, taking over responsibility for the quality of the accounts;
- Pro-actively supporting the directors of the German clients with regards to the accounting results;
- Be the point of contact towards the tax adviser, the auditor or legal advisers of the served companies;
- Maintaining a network of internationally established clients;
- Assist clients in audit planning & management;
- Advise senior management on development in the German market, in preparing offers and participate in pitches;
- Assisting, as necessary, with the structuring of financial and property transactions, and the creation, maintenance and dissolving international companies for the purpose of property acquisition;
- Taking over non-accounting work by pro-actively supporting the local team in rendering administrative services to the clients;
- Maintaining high quality operating standards, procedures and quality controls in line with internal policies
Qualifications & Experience needed
- A Degree in German accounting discipline
- At least 5 years’ experience in an accounting position, ideally with an international organization or corporate service provider;
- A strong analytical mind-set and the ability to deliver high quality service;
- Knowledge of preparation of financial statements based on German GAAP; Basic knowledge of German tax laws, IFRS or any other GAAP would be considered as advantage;
- Be a meticulous, proactive and attentive to details;
- The ability to manage remote a team remotely;
- You bring along a commercial mindset which enables you to create and sell the company’s services to the client;
- You are a team player with excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously;
- You are fluent German (C2 or higher) and good command of both written and spoken English (B1 or higher);
- Be willing to learn and able to adapt in new challenges.
