Manager, Medical Excellence & Operations
An international biopharmaceutical company focused on improving patients’ lives by identifying, developing, and commercializing meaningful products that address unmet medical needs. As a growing organisation, Jazz has a need for a contract position for a Manager, Medical Excellence & Operations to design, manage and implement a comprehensive information resource and communications strategy that supports distance learning and effective information transfer within the EUR/INT Medical Affairs organization. In addition, the role will provide operational and analytics support for the Regional Medical Affairs Evidence Optimization and Managed Access team (EOMAT). This individual will utilize scientific knowledge in Oncology and Neuroscience, and field medical experience for effective management of essential information resources for EUR/INT Medical Affairs and support operational efficiency and effectiveness of EOMAT programs. This individual will be part of the EUR/INT Medical Excellence, Analytics, and Medical Field Force Effectiveness team (Medical Excellence) and report into the EUR/INT Regional Head of Medical Excellence.
Essential Functions
· Provide support for Managed Access Programs (MAPs) through
· Co-ordination of healthcare professional communications through Jazz systems
· Management of data reporting and dashboards, circulating key data to MAP stakeholders – including data checks and uploads to the Medical Affairs dashboard system
· Supporting optimization of MAP processes to ensure high quality consistent responses to MAP requests
· Supporting the MAP team with other activities as needed
· Provide support for Real-World Evidence Generation (RWE) projects through
· Management, optimization and dissemination of study status reports to appropriate audiences
· Management of RWE tracker for EUR/INT Medical Affairs led studies in the region
· Supporting the RWE lead with other activities as needed
· Provide support for design and management of Regional Medical Affairs shared resource sites through
· Strategic Planning and Design: Conduct periodic needs assessments to determine the learning and communication needs of Medical Affairs stakeholders and contribute to development and implementation of a strategic learning plan to support distance learning and knowledge sharing across the EUR/INT region through an intuitive, engaging and easy-to-use e-platform, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
· Content Development and Management: Assist with the creation, curation, and management of high-quality content for distance learning and information sharing, collaborating with subject matter expert leads and trainers to ensure content is structured for optimal learning outcomes
· Training and Capacity Building: Provide training, support and communication to encourage the use of digital tools and content for distance learning and knowledge transfer, developing user guides and resources to ensure stakeholders are equipped to engage effectively with distance learning resources and e-platforms
· Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: Track and assess usage, performance and impact of distance learning resources and e-platforms, and periodically update user profiles, needs and preferences using data-driven insights to identify opportunities to improve and refine learning and communication effectiveness
· Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in distance learning and knowledge management, and maintain scientific, clinical and technical knowledge in relevant disease state areas to enhance the efficiency and reach of Medical Affairs information resource platforms.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Advanced degree in Science or Medicine – PhD, PharmD or MD
· Strong understanding of Medical Affairs function and training/excellence needs, with at least 3-5 years within Medical Affairs or equivalent role
· Prior field Medical Affairs experience preferred
· Prior clinical development/operations experience, whilst not essential, would be an advantage
· Adult learning education or training experience, including design, delivery and evaluation of learning platforms preferred. Previous experience with LMS is a strong asset
· Project management experience in a clinical or medical affairs setting preferred
· Exemplary presentation and public speaking skills
· Excellent verbal, written, analytical and organizational skills
· Working knowledge of Smartsheet and SharePoint
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
· Able to effectively work and prioritise in a fast-paced, flexible and highly matrixed team-oriented environment
· Able to successfully manage competing assignments and responsibilities in a rapidly evolving organisation
· High degree of professionalism, integrity and interpersonal skills required, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
