Job Description:
The primary role of the Manufacturing and Process Specialist is to assist planning day-to-day activities and drive a quality and process-based culture within the manufacturing department in line with KPIs and business objectives. The Manufacturing and Process specialist will also be responsible for workforce co-ordination as backup to the Production and Operations Delivery Manager. The Manufacturing and Process Specialist will have the scope to initiate process, cost and continuous improvement ideas within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Take responsibility for ensuring that end to end business processes & procedures are adhered to by workforce and delivered based on a high level of Quality expectations.
Governance of manufacturing key process & procedures and ensuring teams are trained and adhering to processes at all time to ensure quality output. The Manufacturing and Process Specialist will provide cover for the Production Operations and Delivery Manager during days of absence.
Duties
• Develop processes and procedure within the manufacturing environment to ensure quality standards and delivery are always met
• Manage adherence of processes & procedures to ensure consistent quality of delivery.
• Candidate will need to be flexible in relation to working hours for month/quarter end.
• Monitor daily production output and coordinate any schedule variances
• Ensure all relevant recording and reporting is completed to deadline
• Develop, maintain, analyse and publish KPIs as appropriate
• Achieve & drive department targets and objectives
• Lead a quality culture within the manufacturing plant
• Assist in development and promotion of a lean manufacturing culture
• Ensure customer service levels are met daily
• Ensure clear communication to all manufacturing stakeholders
• Manage, define and review the master production schedules
• This list is not exhaustive, and flexibility is required
• Ensure adherence to operational communication matrix.
• Act as the Production and Operations manager in the event the Production Operations manager is absent. This includes but is not limited to being a point of contact for team members and managing employees time and attendance.
Candidate Profile:
He/ She should be capable of working within a senior management team and show true leadership skills. He/ She should have experience of working in a fast-paced environment and be capable of working on their own initiative. The candidate having manufacturing / production experience is advantageous. Candidate should have working knowledge of production environment including but not limited to cycle counts, wastage management, stock management, SAP etc.

Experience and Skills:
• 3+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment desirable.
• Ideally the candidate will have a 3rd level degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. engineering, quality, production management).
• APICS qualification an advantage
• Working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing an advantage.
• Strong MS Excel skills are essential.
• SAP experience essential
• Excellent IT and MS Office skills.
• Excellent systems, planning and analytical skills.
• Good interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team in a time bound environment to strict deadlines
• Committed to continuous improvement.
• Previous leadership skills advantageous
