Our client The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes. It also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operational delivery of Investment team strategic objectives, as established by the LDA Board
· Review and challenge of financial modelling inputs and assumptions across LDA projects, supporting LDA decision making and monitoring processes
· Deal negotiation and delivery under the LDA’s Project Tosaigh programme, including the management of associated workstreams
· Presenting submissions for LDA Board or Investment Committee consideration, as appropriate
· Working across departments on a collaborative basis to drive and challenge delivery methodologies, cost projections and timelines
· Managing and monitoring of investment team budgets
· Managing a growing team of investment professionals
· Development of key stakeholder relationships with delivery partners, such as local authorities
Knowledge & Experience:
· The ideal candidate will have 10+ years relevant experience (Corporate Finance, Real Estate Investment, or similar) and a professional qualification (accountant/CFA qualified or similar).
· Demonstrable track record of project / deal delivery in a time critical environment.
· Transaction structuring and commercial negotiation experience
· Excellent financial modelling skills, including model development and implementation.
· Demonstrable ability to connect with people and work on a collaborative basis.
Desired Criteria:
· Corporate finance, capital projects assessment and/or investment experience beneficial.
· Experience in property development or real estate investment industry.
· Knowledge and experience in relation to government frameworks / policy development and public procurement is an advantage.
· A strong understanding of corporate governance structures and their operational requirements.
· Ability to manage a diverse workload and comfortable in a changing and expanding team environment.
· Must be able to demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a team.
