Senior Operator - Almac Pharma Services
CPL have partnered with ALMAC Group to recruit for a Senior Operator to join their team on a temporary, fixed term contract.
· Pay Rate - £14.46ph
· Location – ALMAC, Charnwood
· Benefits – 34 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday
· Shift - 08.30 to 16.30
OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE:
To work in close liaison with Formulation Development Scientists and Analytical Support department to ensure the smooth and efficient running of Process Development activities within the department. This may include the undertaking of a limited range of Supervisory duties. Operators will be expected to complete manufacturing activities unsupervised.
Successful candidates may be expected to work changing shift patterns (including night shift), so that the department maintains the flexibility to meet our clients project demands. It is a condition of your employment that you are able to fulfil this requirement of the role.
Successful candidates will be graded based on their experience. Candidates entering at Grades 1 and 2 will undergo a structured training and assessment process before being able to move to the next grade level. A minimum of 6 months training and assessment will be required to complete each Grade level.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
The post holder will:
1. Ensure that all Health, Safety and personal hygiene procedures within all areas and of all personnel meet acceptable standards.
2. Organise and direct workloads to ensure that all operations take place in an efficient manner and in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice. Perform set up, in processes and random checks on operations under their control.
3. Ensure that Batch documentation is completed during each stage of a production operation. In addition maintain neat and accurate documentation.
4. Ensure that batch reconciliation’s are completed at the end of each batch and if necessary subsequent investigations are reported to the Process Development Manager and his/her deputy.
5. Ensure that area cleans are performed at the end of each batch and documented.
6. Liase closely with the Production Team Leaders and Formulation Development Scientists to ensure that production schedules are met.
7. Provide, as necessary, training for other Process Operators.
8. Note and report to authorised supervisor any incidents occurring which could affect the quality of the product being manufactured in an acceptable format.
9. Ensure all workstations are kept clean and tidy at all times.
10. Maintain all equipment in a satisfactory and clean condition.
11. Be responsible for the protection and well being of other personnel.
12. Undertake any other duties as directed by authorised personnel.
13. Liaise with other departments (e.g. Formulation Development, Analytical Support and Engineering) to ensure efficient running of production operations.
ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS
GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics and English Language at Grade C or above
Proven experience of working well within teams.
Good communication skills (both written and oral)
Ability to complete documentation to a high standard.
Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment.
DESIREABLE REQUIRMENTS
Experience in set up, operation and clean down of process equipment. Involved in blending, compression/encapsulation and coating processes.
Significant experience in a manufacturing environment within the pharmaceutical industry.
