Our client, a public sector organisation in Dublin, is seeking to hire an Assistant Compliance Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Data Protection Officer / Senior Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in data protection and compliance, and will play a key role in supporting data protection and compliance activities within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Protection (DP):
- Assist in providing DP oversight and advisory services, including data breaches, subject rights requests, impact assessments, records of processing, and legitimate interests assessments.
- Contribute to DP reports for governance forums and compliance metrics.
- Manage the relationship with OneTrust.
- Support the annual DP and compliance plans, including monitoring, reviews, and task tracking.
- Provide secretariat support for DP and Business Unit meetings.
- Update and review online DP training materials.
- Assist the DPO on ad-hoc DP matters.
General Compliance:
- Support the drafting of compliance procedures and policies.
- Assist with annual attestations and compliance returns.
- Review and share updates from the Better Regulation data feed.
- Provide compliance support to Affiliate Agencies as needed.
- Assist with compliance training and communications plans.
- Monitor compliance group mailboxes and delegate queries.
- Support team members with ad-hoc queries and advice requests.
Knowledge & Experience
- An understanding of financial markets and knowledge of products, services, and practices within the financial services sector.
- Ideally, the candidate would have experience in a similar role within the financial services or public sector.
- Strong understanding of Irish/EU data protection legislation, with practical knowledge and previous experience of working in this area.
- Awareness of data protection and compliance risks within a public sector or financial services context.
- Experience in an assurance, monitoring, or audit role is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the OneTrust application is an advantage.
- Strong IT skills, including familiarity with MS Office, MS Teams, and project management tools.
