My client, a leading Irish food services company, is seeking a motivated and experienced Bid Manager to oversee the full tendering process and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tender Management:
- Lead the end-to-end tender process, from initial client enquiry to proposal submission and post-tender presentations.
- Develop and maintain a bid calendar to track and meet deadlines.
- Create compelling tender documents that align with client specifications, showcasing the company’s capabilities and credibility.
2. Proposal Development:
- Work with teams like operations, projects, marketing, and finance to gather key information for proposals.
- Organize and lead tender meetings with senior leaders, including the Chief Executive and department heads.
- Write clear and persuasive proposals that highlight the company’s strengths and solutions.
- Ensure all proposals meet client requirements and are submitted on time.
3. Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the bidding process, addressing queries and concerns.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to position the company as a leading food services provider.
4. Bidding Strategy and Market Research:
- Research potential clients, competitors, and market trends to identify opportunities and tailor bids effectively.
- Assist in developing tender strategies aligned with company goals and client needs.
5. Bid Submission and Compliance:
- Ensure all bids comply with legal, regulatory, and client requirements.
- Review final submissions for accuracy, completeness, and professionalism before submission.
6. Post-Tender Activities:
- Track tender results and gather client feedback to improve.
- Keep a database of submissions, outcomes, and lessons learned for growth.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Strong understanding of tender processes, including bid writing, proposal development, and client management.
- Talent for designing impactful storyboards and visually compelling tender content.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, capable of handling multiple bids and tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign/Acrobat, CRM systems, and tender platforms (e.g., eTenders, SourceDogg, Coupa).
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Thrives under pressure and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and innovative, with a passion for achieving targets.
- Interest in food, restaurants, and coffee is a plus!
Experience / Qualifications / Benefits
- Third level degree qualification in Arts or Business, with strong academic credentials in English, Business or Marketing.
- At least three years’ experience in a similar bid manager role.
- Competitive salary plus a performance bonus earning potential of €5,000.
- Hybrid working – 3 days in the office per week.
