Our Client the Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes. It also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative. Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
The Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to inform and support the delivery of some of the largest Affordable Housing projects in the state. The Business Analyst will primarily focus on gathering, analysing, and interpreting diverse data to support strategic business decisions and improve operational efficiency within the Development team.
Ideal candidate will be proficient in analytical tools, construction project management software, and have a robust understanding of industry best practice.
Excellent communication skills with a can-do attitude are required as the role requires communicating project analysis at Development meetings within the team.
The successful candidate will be part of a new Project Management Office (PMO) established within the Development team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Development & Construction teams and other department leaders to understand and document business processes and goals. Review existing methods of work and identify potential process improvements leveraging available technology.
- Management information: Quality Assurance of reports and visualisations. Document the approach, data sources, assumptions and constraints.
- Gather, review and analyse business and industry data, including KPIs and project delivery programmes using data analytics tools. Interpret trends and patterns in data to identify and provide recommendations for potential issues and improvements.
- Facilitate workshops to gather feedback and create detailed business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders and decision-makers. Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes and operations.
- Project manage the implementation of new systems and ways of working with internal teams.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders to deliver on specific objectives.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Information Technology or a related field or relevant experience in Business Analysis and Project Management
Desirable
- Additional course or certification in Business Analysis
- Additional course or certification in Programme management software
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working within a similar role.
- Experience within the construction / infrastructure / utility delivery sector is an advantage, but we are also open to candidates with experience within process related industry.
- Resourcefulness, strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office, including MS Project and business analytics software.
- Excellent communication skills:
- Ability to listen, understand and digest feedback from multiple perspectives to identify solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions
