Key Responsibilities:
As the Health & Safety Manager, you will:
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate health and safety risks on site.
- Manage and maintain Health & Safety documentation for external agencies, firms, and government bodies.
- Build and maintain relationships with public organizations in the sector; collaborate during inspections and periodic site visits.
- Define site Health & Safety objectives and programs in alignment with group and regional guidelines.
- Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and develop actionable solutions.
- Stay updated on regulatory Health & Safety requirements and ensure compliance across the site.
- Collaborate with site stakeholders to meet both regulatory and corporate safety standards.
- Monitor adherence to safety standards and implement corrective actions identified during audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Report regularly on Health & Safety metrics, issues, incidents, and compliance to local and regional stakeholders.
- Foster a proactive safety culture through awareness initiatives and engagement programs.
- Organize and deliver Health & Safety training to ensure staff competency and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to and implement the local Strategic Plan (PS3) in alignment with regional and group objectives.
- Develop and implement the site’s emergency response protocols.
Key Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Level 8 Higher Diploma or a degree in a relevant field.
- Chartered membership of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Manager.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing Health & Safety management systems.
- The ability to deliver training to all organizational levels.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as influencing and negotiation abilities.
- A hands-on approach, with high levels of motivation and resilience.
