The Project Controls Manager will oversee and coordinate all project control activities, including planning, cost control, risk management, change management, and project reporting. Working closely with the Global Engineering (GE) project controls team, this role is essential to ensuring the successful delivery of the project within budget and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers on project controls throughout project initiation, execution, and closeout phases.
- Lead Project Controls Team by directing planners and cost engineers to implement project control tools and processes effectively.
- Validate and Consolidate Commercial Reports for monthly CAPEX project reviews (e.g., scope, spend, cost, schedule, risk, forecasting).
- Act as Diplomatic Lead within cross-functional teams to build consensus on commercial issues.
- Collaborate with GE PMO Department to ensure timely Capex Portfolio reporting and adherence to processes.
- Align with GE Functions and Stakeholders on capex funding, control, and forecasting processes.
- Drive Project Controls Systems Development to establish industry-leading tools and systems.
- Participate in Meetings and Workshops with delivery and functional teams.
- Provide Data and Analysis for ad hoc requests and presentations as needed.
- Support Project Controls Group as required and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying, or Business Management, or equivalent experience.
- Language: Fluent in English; German proficiency is advantageous.
- Experience: 10+ years as a project controls manager for large-scale (>$100 million) pharmaceutical projects.
- Additional Experience: EPCm experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong data interpretation and presentation abilities for senior management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Primavera P6.
- Experience with SAP, SAP Ariba, and Oracle Primavera Unifier is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets and support decision-making.
- Comfortable with shifting priorities and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pharmaceutical projects using Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning contracts.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
