Cpl in partnership with our client Pfizer are seeking a Purification Development Associate Scientist to join the team at their state of the art plant in Dublin, Grange Castle for an 11 month fixed term contract. This is a lab based, Onsite role.
Pfizer’s Sterile Injectables and Biotech Technology (SBT) portfolio comprises multiple approaches for the creation of effective bio therapeutics. This laboratory-based role will focus on the characterisation and improvement of these processes for existent large molecules in commercial manufacturing, and in the later stages of development programs at Pfizer.
Role Details:
- Comply with safety and regulatory requirements as documented through the internal training program
- Design and execute experimental studies for the development of robust processes for the purification of macromolecule products including process characterisation and optimisation studies.
- Collaborate closely with analytical scientists who will work on the characterisation of these macromolecules during these process development studies.
- Work with the team in the design and optimisation of purification steps for macromolecules using established technology within the Manufacturing Science & Technology department. Current technologies used include but are not limited to all modes of chromatography (Ion Exchange, Affinity, Size Exclusion etc.) and filtration (normal/tangential flow).
- Provide technical support to Drug Substance Technical Services when required during investigations, new process introduction or change implementation in commercial manufacturing operations. Technical support may involve trouble-shooting manufacturing-scale process problems through experimental investigations at laboratory scales of operation.
Education/Experience
- BEng / BSc / MSc or higher in Biotechnology / Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Biochemical Engineering or other related disciplines
- 0-2+ years of directly relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
- Technical fields of experience preferably to include specific knowledge and practical experience of large molecule bio processing and separation sciences gained at a minimum at BEng or BSc level or through work experience
- Experience in designing and executing components of experimental programs in the laboratory.
- Familiar with problem-solving, risk analysis and/or statistical tools
