Our client is a global leader in the manufacture of industrial chemicals and adhesives, based in Dublin 24, requires a Research Chemist to join their Research & Development team. Initially a 12 month contract with strong possibility of extension. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global team of scientists supporting game changing technologies and innovation.
Role
• Scout new technologies and develop prototypes.
• Develop a strong IP platform for new technology developments
• Collaborate very closely with a team of talented scientists and technicians within Dublin’s technical team and within the global team.
• Work closely with Product Development, Application Engineering, Marketing and Commercial functions to drive successful research activities.
• Participate in customer visits, conferences and support the creation of white papers, patents and external technical information
• Manage laboratory to maintain compliance with safety standards and other corporate standards
Requirements
• PhD in Chemistry or equivalent.
• Postdoctoral experience in materials science, adhesives/polymer composites desired. Additional expertise in piezoelectric materials/signal harvesting/circuitry is highly beneficial.
• Self-motivated with creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills required.
• Good team player with ability to communicate well at all levels including customers and other functions, presenting papers both internally and externally as appropriate
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all functions on-site.
• Must be proficient in MS Word, EXCEL, Power-point etc.
