Civil Engineering Technician
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Civil Engineering Technician (TG1 Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract, with possibility of extension.
· Pay Rate - £12.59 per/hr
· Location – DfI, Roads - Mid and East Antrim Section Office/Carrickfergus
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities will include:
· Ensuring that public roads and footways are inspected to schedule and to identify defects for repair in accordance with Road Maintenance Standards for Safety and to provide a statutory defence in public liability claims.
· Dealing with public complaints within a reasonable timescale.
· Permit Inspections.
· Possible court appearances on behalf of the Department.
Essential Experience/Qualifications
· BTEC in Civil Engineering or equivalent. If no BTEC then minimum qualifications for PTO Apprentice apply. Minimum qualifications – 5 GCSE’s. Grade B in maths, Grade C in English Language, Grade C in a Civil Engineering Science and two other GCSEs at grade C or above.
AND
· A full current driving licence enabling the licence holder to drive vehicles in Northern Ireland.
Desired Experience/Qualifications
General experience of road maintenance and building / civil engineering construction.
Relevant or Equivalent Qualifications
Applications will also be considered from applicants with relevant formal qualifications considered to be of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated.
