My client, a global company specialising in the development, manufacture and marketing of clinical diagnostic products are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join their Biosensor Division in Bray Co. Wicklow.

About the role
· We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to work in the Biosensor business to design and implement functional software solutions.
· Collaborating with senior management, you will play a key role in defining software requirements and assuming leadership of operational and technical projects.
· In this position, you will have the opportunity to work autonomously with minimal supervision, leveraging your exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· A strong background in software development and familiarity with agile methodologies are essential.
· Your primary objective will be to develop high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and align with the organization’s business goals.
· Analyzing requirements, designing robust architectures, writing efficient code, and conducting thorough testing.
· As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the responsibility to drive projects forward, mentor junior team members, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. By delivering innovative and reliable software, you will contribute to the success of our organization and make a meaningful impact in the industry.
Requirements and skills
· Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer
· Extensive experience in software development, scripting and project management
· Experience using system monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic) and automated testing frameworks
· Knowledge of selected programming languages (e.g. Python, C++) and the Java/J2EE platform
· In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
· Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows)
· Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
· Ability to work independently
· Excellent organizational and leadership skills
· BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree
