Defining Priorities using the 3W Model

Group of Cpl professionals in suits carefully examining an intricate architectural model

A large European Retailer with locations across EU engaged with Future of Work Institute to define their key leadership priorities for the future of work.  As part of this project, we rolled out a series of workshops firstly with their SLT and then with the next tier of managers using our 3W Model to identify their Top 5 priorities.

Our Approach

Our approach included

  • Meetings with internal stakeholders to agree the objectives, understand their long term strategy, discuss  location, number of employees and key logistics to ensure the location, time and costs and key outputs were agreed in advance

  • Our team facilitated two workshops with their SLT and then with the next tier of managers using our 3W Model and associated Continuums

  • Each Continuum has a definition and an “As Is” and “To Be” element where each group consider where they are and where they want to be on each of these Continuums

  • The purpose of this exercise is to understand key internal perspectives, conflicts and to have an open discussion on each.

  • Our workshops are both interactive, engaging and educational. Typically they start with a Key Note highlighting some best practice, research and case studies that  can be applied to the workshop section of the event.

  • Our workshops are typically 2.5hrs and held either onsite at our HQ in Dublin or at an agreed location.

Outputs included:

The workshops yielded many perspectives and considerations for the future of work. Ultimately, we co-created with the SLT the Top 5 priorities for their future of work strategy, key actions/next steps to implement these and to apply to their organisation.
