Driving change through immersive experience

​A large multinational corporation that develops medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and consumer packaged goods with locations across EU engaged with Future of Work Institute in the development of their EU future of work 10-year strategy. As part of this project, we used Immersive Experience and storytelling to drive creation, teamwork and innovation.

Our Approach

Our approach included

  • Meetings with internal stakeholders to agree the location, number of employees and key logistics to ensure the location, time and costs were considered

  • A series of co-creation sessions to get an understanding of their current situation and key objectives for the event

  • The objective of the Immersive Experience was to show employees what the organisation could look and feel like 10 years into the future

  • We researched and created a bespoke in-person immersive event with our collaborators in theme park design using a local stadium to build a series of rooms to take employees through in a strategically timed way to enable time for thinking, feeling and engaging

  • We branded this “FutaWorld” and created all graphics, logos, assets and video materials associated with the imagined FutaWorld

  • The experience took employees through 4 rooms – The Flux Room where they watched a video and count down into the future, The iTalk Studio where they observed an interview of a leader from the future, The Museum of Design where they observed a series of products and materials imagined from the future and The Workshop where we facilitated a design thinking session to capture thoughts, feelings and insights based on the story they were immersed in.

Outputs included:

The Immersive Experience ran for 3 days with over 150 of their employees coming through it. Thoughts, feelings and insights were gathered from employees and assessed by our team. This ultimately resulted in the creation of a tailored roadmap/ blueprint for their future of work strategy.
