Accounting Technician - Hybrid
Established over 70 years ago, my client runs a busy solicitor’s practice based in South Galway and are looking to hire an experienced accounts technician/bookkeeper to join their team. Previous legal practice experience is preferred. This is a hybrid position based in Loughrea, Galway.
Responsibilities:
• Update and maintenance of postings for both Client Accounts and Office accounts.
• Nominal Accounts, Supplier Accounts and Third party Accounts.
• Recording of receipts/direct lodgements / payments by cheques, EFT, Land Direct payments and CRO payments ensuring accuracy and compliance with Law Society regulations.
• Document evidence for receipts and payments
• Transfers from Clients Account and Journal for Transfers
• Clients Authorities in relation to S.150 letters/Bills of Costs/Statement of Account
• Monthly Bank reconciliations for all Clients accounts and Office account.
• Month end and Year end reports and Balancing Statements.
• Invoicing, processing of Invoices/Bills of Costs and contacting Clients re; o/s accounts.
• Assisting fee earners with finalising Bills of Costs and Statements of Accounts
• Processing of supplier Invoices and Accounts Payable
• Preparation and filing of VAT returns and Thesaurus Payroll System.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Previous legal accounts experience in a Legal Office or similar Office is advantageous.
• Experience in Solicitors computerised accounts and case management systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and numerical skills are essential.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Law Society accounts regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and an eye for accuracy.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and be able to work to meet deadlines.
