Accounts Assistant
Our client, a unique employer in the Northwest is currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team. This role reports directly to the Accounts Supervisor. It will be an onsite role working with the finance team to complete and oversee the accurate and timely recording of accounts payable/receivable, general accounts and financial accounts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monthly bank reconciliations of the client’s accounts and the accurate posting to the finance system of all related transactions.
- Supplier reconciliations including reconciliation of the central billing accounts.
- Cash handling duties, as and when required, including bank lodgment reconciliations.
- Assistance with the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger on an ad-hoc basis when required.
- Deal with finance queries as appropriate.
- Ad hoc finance projects to include system reviews, process improvements and efficiency measures.
- Any other duties relevant to this position and which can be reasonably expected and that will enhance your financial skills and experience.
Position Requirements:
- Either a business/finance graduate, accounting technician or a part qualified accountant with 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar finance role.
- Have proficiency with MS Excel and accounting software.
- Show a willingness to learn and gain experience working in a busy finance department.
- Excellent communicator skills.
- Has good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Has the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
