CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN- Bray

OVERVIEW:
The Calibration Technician will assist in the calibration, testing and repair of a variety of standard instrumentation and specialist equipment, to meet the relevant industry practices and regulations, as directed by the Calibration Lead.
· The role will cover the performance of calibration duties for the entire Takeda Ireland Limited (Bray) facility.
· Perform calibrations on temperature, humidity, pressure, weight, flow, speed, conductivity, pH, and viscosity instrumentation, in line with company and cGMP procedures and requirements.
· Investigate, diagnose, and rectify instrumentation faults arising during calibration.
· Immediate traceable reporting of calibration non-conformances,
· and ensuring deviation reports are generated if required.
· Enter calibration records into CMMS system in accordance with ALCOA+ principles.
· Ensure that calibration reference standards used are in date, and labelled as such,
· and notify Calibration Lead of pending out-of-date equipment in a timely manner.
· Keep up to date with all relevant site training requirements.
· Maintain an organised, clean, and tidy working environment in line with 5S pillars.
· Adhere to approved company EHS risk assessments for performing elevated risk calibration activities and report all accidents / near misses / unsafe conditions to site EHS.
· Support on site routine safety inspections and Gemba walks relating to calibration activities.
· Adhere to all HR policies and procedures, including timely reporting of absences.
· Perform other duties as may be deemed appropriate by Calibration Lead and that fall within the general remit of the post.
REQUIREMENTS:
Time served Electrical & Instrumentation apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in Electronics / Instrumentation / Control Systems, City and Guilds FTC in Electronics or Control & Instrumentation, or equivalent qualifications.
· Previous experience of calibration activities within the pharmaceutical industry, especially in Clean Rooms, or in a similarly highly regulated manufacturing environment.
· Proven track record of problem-solving issues associated with instrumentation / measurement devices.
· Previous experience in CMMS systems for recording calibration records – SAP / Maximo / ProCal.
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
· Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
· Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment.
· Proven ability to see activities through to completion.
