CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Curatorial F (E01 Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract.
· Pay Rate - £15.97 per/hr
· Location – Belfast
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities will include:
This is a temporary Curatorial F Archivist post within the Historic Environment Division. The post will cover a range of archivist duties, working as part of a team, and providing support to HED staff.
Contributing to the review, management, maintenance augmentation and updating of the Historic Environment archives and records, including the digital datasets.
Sorting, listing and indexing, records selected for permanent preservation.
Providing advice on best practice records management.
Appraising records for retention or disposal.
Under supervision, undertaking research and preparing introductions to catalogues.
Cataloguing archive collections, transcribing catalogues, assessment of collections
Essential Experience/Qualifications
· Have at least a second-class honours degree
And
· A recognised post graduate archival qualification e.g. a diploma in archival administration or an MA in archival administration.
Or
· At least two years’ experience in applying archival principles, policies and practices.
Desired Experience/Qualifications
· Experience of using the Historic Environment Record of Northern Ireland (HERoNI) for research purposes and working with the related catalogues and databases, and / or experience of cataloguing and archiving.
