Electrical Engineer– Dublin 15 (Biopharma Sector)

Cpl is currently supporting a long-established biopharmaceutical client based in Dublin 15 in their search for an Electrical Maintenance Technician. This position has arisen due to an internal promotion, offering an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing maintenance team within a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Note: Candidates must hold a valid electrical trade certification or an NFQ Level 6 (or equivalent) qualification in an electrical discipline.
Role Overview:
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of production and packaging lines. You will carry out both reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring optimal equipment uptime and performance. Working alongside a team of skilled technicians and engineers, you’ll contribute to key operational targets and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day electrical maintenance in a high-speed manufacturing setting.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults across production, packaging, and support equipment.
- Deliver high-quality engineering support across designated areas or zones.
- Ensure equipment uptime consistently exceeds 95%.
- Support the setup, installation, and commissioning of new machinery and systems.
- Work closely with the Supervisor or Lead Technician to plan and execute maintenance tasks to boost line performance.
- Use PLCs for fault finding and diagnosis (preferably Siemens or Allen Bradley experience).
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and follow documentation standards.
- Provide cost-effective solutions for equipment improvement or upgrade requirements.
- Carry out maintenance tasks in accordance with site safety and GMP protocols.
- Be available for occasional overtime to support production schedules or urgent repairs.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an electrical maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in biopharma, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, FMCG, or medical device sectors preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Comfortable working under pressure and responding quickly to breakdowns.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Flexibility to take on additional duties as needed.
Requirements:
- National Craft Certificate in Electrical or equivalent NFQ Level 6 qualification.
- Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- Proficiency in PLC fault finding is highly desirable.
