💭 Are you looking for a new career challenge?

💭 Originally from Germany, studied in the Netherlands, now myself living in Ireland, I am recruiting for an IT Support Engineer in Amsterdam.

Your new challenge

Responsible for all Data Centres within the Netherlands. These are large production-strength Data Centres servicing customers and business and thus require 100% uptime.
Tasks fall into 2 areas: Data Centre facilities (racks; power; cooling; cabling; etc) in conjunction with local country facility organisations and vendors, and Hardware Installation (delivery; build; patching and power-on; and disposal).
Work closely with technology owners and contribute towards design and build of hardware infrastructure (this includes the network CNO & CTO departments). Support the evaluation of new infrastructure from the technology teams and work with them to dispose of legacy equipment in a safe and secure fashion.
Report all Data Centre and Hardware activities – demonstrate full control of all areas within their jurisdiction.

What we are looking for in you

BVCA certification.
HBO / HTS education (Computer Science or other technical subject) or comparable.
Strong knowledge of Data Centre operation.
1 year solid experience in: Data Centre management skills with experience of working to tight standards within this challenging environment. Hands-on within an Enterprise-scale Production Data Centre.
Background in IT & Network technologies: cable types; fibre technologies (in LAN, WAN & SAN); CPU, memory, storage hardware internals (swap of cards, etc).
Background in hands-on technical administration within IT Infrastructure and Operations.
Fluent English (and Dutch or German preferred)
