We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Java Developer to join our client’s team working remotely from Ireland. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working with Java, as well as experience in the financial sector specifically with payments.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain Java-based applications and systems
· Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features
· Troubleshoot and debug any issues that arise
· Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
· Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
· Experience working with payments in the financial sector
Requirements:
· 5+ years of experience working with Java
· 2+ years working with payments
· Strong understanding of software development principles
· Experience with Agile development methodologies
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
· Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
This is a contract position within a pre-existing team on a long-term project, with the possibility of multiple extensions for the right person. This is a remote position for the entirety of the contract (It will remain remote although the employer reserves the right to amend this to a hybrid model in subsequent contract extensions).
*Please note a sponsorship/work permit visa is not possible for this role. In order to apply for a work permit in Ireland the job must be permanent, or the contract must be for a minimum of 2 years.
