Junior Logistics Operator

Our client is a well-established Logistics Business within the Cork area looking to bring on a junior logistics Operator who is enthusiastic, proactive and has an ability to learn. This role is critical for the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manage shipment bookings for forwarding operations.
• Track and oversee shipments from the initial customer booking to destination arrival and customer payment.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
• Coordinate with local and international vendors and agents to secure competitive rates and optimal services.
• Collaborate with transport vendors to arrange collections and deliveries.
• Process sales and purchase invoices, addressing any related customer or creditor queries.
• Handle rate requests and prepare quotations.
• Maintain an understanding of customs clearance requirements, including SADs and other relevant documentation.
• Support the development and expansion of sea freight services.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

·      A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, business or any related field is beneficial

·      Experience working in a previous logistics role is beneficial but not mandatory

·      Strong communication and problem solving are essential

·      Strong knowledge of all Microsoft programs & IT

·      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to work on your own initiative
