Mapping and Charting Officer
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Mapping and Charting Officer (E01 Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract.
· Pay Rate - £15.97 per/hr
· Location – Derry/Londonderry
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities will include:
Cross checking and verifying scheduled monument site owner details held by HED. Many sites will have changed ownership without notification to HED. Telephone cold call enquiries, on the ground in person checks and digital land registry checks will be required. Recording of verification of current HED records or new owner details. Use of HED digital resources, primarily Sites and Monument Record database and the Historic Environment Mapviewer. Noting and escalating to management any issues noted during the course of this exercise at specific sites in relation to land/boundary changes.
Essential Experience/Qualifications
· Driving licence and access to a car
· Demonstrated experience in positive public/customer engagement, high degree of communication and negotiation skills.
· Demonstrated skill in organising data in a clear and structured fashion, precision and accuracy.
Desired Experience/Qualifications
· Demonstrated experience in interrogating maps, databases, land registry.
· Experience in looking and understanding physical landscapes.
· Archaeological monuments assessment.
