Job Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop new designs from initial concept to implementation and improve existing designs.
Work with sales team to visit customer sites to confirm customers equipment requirements.
Implementation and maintenance of Lean systems for production process.
Work closely with our production team during the manufacturing process.
Creation of SOP’s and production tutorials
Document designs with solid part models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in Autodesk inventor.
Verify designs using traditional analytical methods in conjunction with dynamic and finite element analysis software.
Assess and implement continuous improvement for production process.
Create and maintain complete machine product structures including bills of materials, Models and Options, and service parts information.
Advise sales partners on after sales service of equipment and offer maintenance training.

REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of experience in machine design or related industry
Strong orientation towards safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient with solid modelling (Autodesk inventor preferred) and PC skills including Excel and Word.
Ability to follow sequenced work associated with complex design tasks.
Demonstrates technical leadership working within a team.
Able to effectively lead project teams and utilize resources to produce optimal results.
Has basic understanding across multiple areas of engineering and may have advanced understanding in a specific area: Mechanical Design, Hydraulic Systems, or Electrical Systems.
Experience applying engineering principals to solve complex problems with little or no guidance, identifying and working through multi-disciplinary complex technical problems independently.
Demonstrated experience leading projects; can develop project schedules and execute to plan.
Experience effectively prioritizing, assigning, and overseeing delegated projects within an Engineering team.
