Client & Role Overview:
Our client is a globally renowned for their role in Scientific Instrument development, where they are manufactured in-house and designed by professionals in the electronics and mechanical design team. With the instruments being incorporated in the world’s largest scientific organizations, this is a great opportunity to join the team of leading scientists.
Within this role you will be working within the production team, where you will be responsible for assembling, testing sub-assembly and completed instruments to required specification. You will also investigate and fault find customer systems and communicating issues direct to your report and assist with repairs on PCB and assemblies.This role requires key attention to detail and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow Health & Safety procedures including maintaining a clean work area
- Supporting team members to meet customer requirements
- Perform quality checks to ensure product meets the required standards
- Testing & Repairing PCB’s as required by Production Planner
- Fault finding and repairs on customer systems
- Wiring and Soldering as per needed for the role
- Assemble products to designated work instructions
- Always follow testing procedures and manuals – documentation of results as required and highlight any concerns regarding procedures to direct report
- Final test of sub-assembled and completed units to specific instructions
- Responsible for meeting deadlines for completion of production orders and required quality standards
- Read and follow diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, testing procedures and other written procedures to accurately test or build products.
Requirements:
- HNC/HND/BTEC in Mechatronics or equivalent
- 2+ years mechanical/electronic assembly experience
- Attention to detail
- Good IT Skills
- Good Communication skills
- Specific vision abilities required include close, distanced, colour, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Desirable:
- Experience using multimeters and oscilloscopes
- Repairs and testing of PCB’s and assemblies
- Understanding of electronic circuits
- Experience wiring and soldering
