Our Renewable Energy Business Unit currently has a need for Operational Technology
Technician on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Edenderry and will report to the
Compliance Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible to lead and
support in technology projects for our Operational Technology and Information Technology
assets. To develop and implement robust cybersecurity measures in line with regulatory
requirements and to proactively mitigate risks to enhance operational efficiency.

The Role:
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
• Develop, review and maintain architectural, technical specifications and procedural
documentation. Create and update standard operating procedures for network-related tasks.;
• Specify hardware and software requirements for new and upgrade projects;
• Manage the configuration of IT and OT hardware and software to meet cybersecurity
requirements and test the configuration to prove requirements are met;
• Set up, monitor and test software and configuration backups of OT and IT systems;
• Analyse and document assets and systems, develop cybersecurity test plans, use standard
cybersecurity tools and methods and carry out network scans and penetration tests;
• Implement and manage network monitoring and management tools;
• Work internally and externally with third party vendors on the Renewable Energy IT and OT
networking environments working with multiple vendor firewalls, routers, network appliances
and various types of WAN network links and VPN configurations;
• Keep abreast of and ensure compliance with regulatory directives such as NIS2;
• Work with the procurement team and procurement process for new and upgrade projects;
• Candidate will be required to take part in both online and in person training and industry body
workshops;
• Support cyber security training, documentation and delivery of training to colleagues in
relation to any new systems, system changes and processes;
• Excellent communication skills are required for the role;
• The ability to support and work effectively with staff at all levels within and outside of the
organisation is essential;
• Provide updates to the Management team;
• Candidate is required to complete a safe-pass certificate and be willing to travel to remote
sites;

ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using
the premises;
• Lead and Performance Manage your direct report(s). Proactively participate in the
Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's
objectives;
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes;
• Third level degree (min 2:2 classification) in a discipline with a high level of numerical,
analytical and/or financial content. (Engineering, Finance, Science, Data Science);
• Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
are a distinct advantage;
• Excellent knowledge of networking protocols, security, and best practices;
• Working knowledge of OT data communications and protocols an advantage;
• Working knowledge of cloud environments and vendors;
• Working knowledge with software-defined networking (SDN) concepts;
• Candidate will have good knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and industry standards e.g.
NIS2, IEC 62443;
• Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools;
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
• Effective communication and collaboration skills;
