Operations Manager – Little Island
Our client are currently looking for an Operations Manager based in Little Island.
The Operations Manager will receive training and have the opportunity to gain experience in all areas of the Little Island plant. You will be responsible for all aspects of operations including, ensuring and improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the unit, using key performance indicators. The operations manager will also be responsible for managing a team of 200+ staff.
You will be part of a team, who all have a role to play to drive the operational standards in the plant. This role is fast paced, about multi tasking effective, no 2 days are the same.
It will be the responsibility of the Operations Manager to ensure that the plant is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of customers.
Key Responsibilities
· Planning and managing the plants overall day to day operations i.e Production, Distribution, Customer Service.
· Staff management, building people and motivating for results, HR, strategic planning & training
· A continuous focus at ensuring performance according to the targets and focusing on growth. Implement efficiencies in the plant and its operation
· Ensure that the plant is on a high operational level and at the same time balances the long term strategic goals in order to maintain the market position
· Manage and support health and safety on site
· Manage Quality Systems, ISO & RABC to the site.
· Provide and produce weekly reports and data on all aspects of operations on site
· Customer focused with attention to detail for customer requirements
· Setting and reviewing budgets and managing cost
Education and Qualifications:
· Ideally degree level qualification in business administration/engineering or operations management or professional recognition in a relevant discipline.
Knowlege and Skills:
· Proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role – min 5 + years.
· Demonstrable knowledge of organisation effectiveness, best management practices and project management.
· Strong interpersonal skills, a vision for success, and the ability to take responsibility, coach, develop and mentor.
· Demonstrable track record in driving the best out of people whilst at the same time managing to agreed / business deadlines
