Principal UI Software Engineer – Galway/Hybrid
Our client, a leading financial services provider seeks to hire a passionate and experienced Principal UI Developer to work on new and existing projects servicing the financial trading industry. We are looking for a skilled technical leader with strong design, development communication, collaboration and influencing skills and a love for solving technology challenges to deliver business-critical features.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and support mission-critical enterprise software applications.
- Define product solutions by working directly with business and product teams.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers to help them grow in their careers.
- Promote good engineering practices and standards.
- Keep up to date with the latest engineering trends and practices and bring them back to the team when appropriate.
- Act as a UI technical leader, helping coach and mentor peers, performing code reviews and helping establish technical standards for the team.
- Help be a technical voice for the team, representing technical solutions at cross squad and leadership sessions.
The ideal candidate will have some/all of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years overall of development experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ Angular experience in designing, development and testing exposure.
- Development experience with building responsive web applications using component libraries like PrimeNg or Material-UI.
- Monorepo experience is a plus.
- Solid hands-on experience working with some/all of the following: Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Node.js, NPM, Maven, Git, REST.
- Familiarity with running software on Cloud Service Providers like Amazon Web Services.
- Strong technical design, development, analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Financial services experience is preferred.
