Process Technician
My client, a large medical device company based in Galway is currently looking to recruit a Process Technician to join their Stent Delivery Catheter Production Unit on a night shift (10:30pm – 6:30am). This Production Unit builds Drug Eluting Stent delivery systems for treating cardiovascular disease caused by narrowed or blocked arteries around the heart and the Process Technician will be responsible for respond to equipment, yield and process related issues as well as implementing corrective and preventative actions to eliminate repeat instances. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to be trained and work in a fast-paced cleanroom environment with high levels of automated machines. In this role, you work as part of a team consisting of members from various functions.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers in developing, trouble shooting, standardising and improving existing production methods and procedures.
- Maintain a critical spares inventory for key maintenance items to minimise downtime.
- Assist ME’s in investigating and implementing new production methods.
- Assist ME’s in design methods, part sourcing and documentation.
- Perform equipment qualifications and validations, including report writing etc.
- Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment, changes and improvements.
- Interface with a variety of personnel and with outside vendors when necessary while performing the above.
- Take responsibility for preventative maintenance procedures with an assigned process or area.
- Communicates any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health or safety issues to their Manager.
Requirements:
- HETAC Level 6 (120 Credits) qualification in a relevant area with a minimum of two years relevant experience.
- Medical Device Manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
- Good technical capabilities, communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
- Proven ability to work well both as part of a team but also able to work on own with minimum supervision.
