Civil Engineering Assistant
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Civil Engineering Assistant (PTO Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract of 6 - 9 months, with possibility of extension.
· Pay Rate - £15.97 per/hr
· Location – DfI Rivers Directorate, Planning Advisory Unit
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities will include:
Candidates will be responsible for providing responses to Planning Authorities.
The role will involve assessing planning consultations to advise Planning Authorities in relation to inappropriate development in floodplains, or elsewhere, in accordance with Planning policy:
· Revised Planning Policy Statement PPS15
· Council Local Development Plans, where adopted. The Strategic Planning Policy Statement for NI
Essential Experience/Qualifications
· At least a Level 3 BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Building Studies
OR
· A BTEC HNC in Civil Engineering or Building studies
OR
· A degree in Civil Engineering
AND
· A full current driving licence enabling the licence holder to drive vehicles in Northern Ireland.
Desired Experience/Qualifications
· Experience in Hydrology and or river engineering
· Experience with flood risk management.
· Experience working with planning authorities.
Relevant or Equivalent Qualifications
