Current Need:
SK biotek Ireland in Swords is seeking to recruit a SHE Advisor to join the Environmental Health and Safety Department on a contract basis. The successful candidate will provide environmental, health, and safety support for all operations at the SK biotek Manufacturing Facility. Ensuring that the SHE Management system is maintained on an on-going basis in conformance with the ISO Management Standards ISO 14001/45001, the site Industrial Emissions Licence, Corporate and Customer requirements.
Position Description:
• Develop, implement and maintain training programs for health, safety and the environment. Develop interactive and stimulating training material. Provide SHE training where required.
• Support the site environmental management programmes. Support the preparation of environmental reports for the company.
• Ensure environmental sampling and testing is completed, as required by the site Industrial Emissions Licence, monitor compliance and report environmental performance to management.
• Support the in-house Environmental Laboratory Team, ensuring appropriate and efficient systems are in place to ensure adherence to the Environmental sampling and testing program.
• Assist in the preparation, implementation and review of EHS Procedures and other EHS documents.
• Conduct walk-downs of the operational areas to ensure that EHS standards are met. Co-ordinate area EHS assessments, compile area checklists, monitor completion of assessments and CAPA’s. Document actions and drive to close out.
• Perform EHS risk assessments.
• Day to day maintenance of the Environmental and Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001/14001).
• Identify and address site EHS issues and manage the employee SHE Concerns and Good Catches program.
• Provide support to functions for Incident & accident investigation (including root cause analysis and CAPA Management).
• Build relationships with key departments to foster support for EHS programs.
• Provide EHS technical support to relevant Departments and attend relevant safety & environmental meetings as part of that support process.
• Undertake other duties as assigned depending on SHE function requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
• Qualification in an SHE-related discipline, such as engineering, physical science, or biological science/chemistry, or equivalent experience required.
• A minimum of 1-year professional experience required in environment, health, and safety programs.
• Ability to make effective oral presentations and work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills required, both verbal and written.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Passionate about SHE, energetic and brings a strong work ethic and focus to their work.
• Mindset of continuous improvement, proactive, pragmatic and results/performance focused.
• An understanding of ISO 14001, 45001 management systems implementation.
We would prefer you to have:
• Experience in Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control (IPPC) or Industrial Emissions (IE) Licensing.
• Train the Trainer training and experience of delivering training.
• A minimum of 1-year relevant experience in cGMP environment.
