Sales and Operations Manager - An Post Retail
This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an inspirational leader to spearhead the transformation of an established division within An Post. As the Manager of the Sales and Operations department, you will drive this transformation to underpin, strengthen, and future-proof delivery through An Post.
Reporting to the Commercial Director of Retail, you will be responsible for leading the business with an income of approximately €130m, by implementing a cost-effective operation, meeting commercial objectives, and executing a future-proof strategy that delivers high-quality customer service.
Responsibilities
The principal responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead the management of the business, including full P&L responsibility.
- Develop a transformation strategy to reposition the department as a viable, commercial, and efficient operation based on the “to be” collection model developed by the government.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a large team to execute the operational transformation strategy and achieve sales targets.
- Oversee sales planning and performance management, maximizing sales and service performance to achieve sales targets.
- Maximize sales volume through the most cost-effective channels within the suite of payment options across Post Office, Online, and Direct Debit.
- Develop and implement a long-term technology roadmap within the business unit.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the collections business, including but not limited to managing a multi-functional team, tight cost control, license sales, media queries, with management oversight on the central system and website.
- Manage strategic, commercial, and operational relationships with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media (TCAGSM) and RTÉ.
- Provide regular Management Information Systems reporting to key stakeholders: An Post, TCAGSM, and RTÉ.
- Demonstrate An Post values and behaviors in day-to-day work and address behavior that supports/conflicts with these.
Qualifications
You will have 3+ years of experience in leading an operations unit with full P&L responsibility, proven ability to think strategically, and lead a large team. A third-level relevant qualification in a business-related field is desirable.
Critical to this role is experience in change and transformation, achieving demonstrable results in improving operational effectiveness by redesigning and enhancing processes and implementing innovative changes while maintaining a highly motivated work environment. You will have experience working with senior stakeholders and navigating through changing priorities.
As a strong leader, you will have the ability to communicate, influence, and gain buy-in to enable your teams to understand their role in delivering the business strategy and ensuring they are future-focused, engaged, committed, and driven to meet goals and objectives. Strong organizational skills are critical to monitor progress against KPIs and address potential challenges or issues.
Please note: While the role is based in the EXO Dublin 1, it may involve some travel to other An Post offices to facilitate meetings.
