The role
Seeking a Data Analyst to join our Infrastructure and Application Security Product Area. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for data analysis, requirements gathering, providing value to our customers, and agile product delivery. The Data Analyst will join forces with the squad lead, engineers, and architects to ensure our business objectives become reality in our Application & Infrastructure product space.
The Team
Enterprise Cybersecurity is responsible for protecting the business from external and internal threats against our infrastructure, data and systems. As a member of the Infrastructure and Application Security Product area, you will join a team that is the centre of excellence for analysis and contribute to driving outstanding solutions. In this role you will work in partnership with analysts, squad leads, engineers and architects in the Infrastructure Security Engineering Product team. The mission of the product team is to Secure the Firm by identifying, assessing and mitigating vulnerability, malware and configuration exposures in applications and infrastructure.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
• BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience is required.
• 8+ years of analyst experience in the form of research, requirements definition, gap analysis, data mining, and data profiling.
• Demonstrated ability in data analytics, data warehousing, and data visualization.
• Proven experience in building data visualization dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI.
• Experience with data management and visualization tools (SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, Alteryx), report generation and distribution with an emphasis in SQL knowledge.
• Understanding of modeling strategies and concepts (dimensional, relational, unstructured).
• Building conceptual, logical, and physical data models (3NF) in a relational database environment.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective data models, considering data quality, performance, and scalability.
• Experience with data governance and data quality initiatives
• Solid understanding of data lineage. Ability to break down and detail the flow of data from source to target and develop data flow diagrams.
• SQL proficiency for data manipulation, querying, and profiling on cloud and on-premise database technologies – preferably Snowflake and Oracle.
• Experience in Snowflake procedures, PL/SQL, SQL, Unix shell scripts, Python.
• Working understanding of relevant database platforms (e.g., Oracle, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server).
• Solutioning and development with any ETL technologies and building data pipelines.
• ETL tool experience such as Informatica or Snap Logic in support of data analysis work would be a nice to have.
• Ability to collaborate with data architects, data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall data strategy.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex data modeling concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in an Agile team setting (Kanban and/or SCRUM).
• Experience working in the Cybersecurity or Risk industry is preferred.
• Ability to learn from the data as you engage with business partners, test, research, and analyze so that you have a deep understanding of the “what and why” the data reflects.
• Able to work independently; comfortable seeking guidance when needed.
