Senior Structural Engineering Project Manager / TECHNICAL ADVISOR

Starting salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + benefits

Are you a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer with excellent Project Leadership? This is an excellent opportunity to join the team in London for a well established multi national organisation who provides independent advice / Consultancy to clients, building owners, Architects and developers within the construction industry to create a safer, greener built environment. They work closely with design and construction teams but their focus is on impartial advice and as such, they do not undertake design.
As a Senior Technical Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering guidance and support to investor and developer clients. To include;
- Project Lead for service delivery, managing a multi-discipline technical team and being point of contact for Clients.
- Deliver services, be a subject matter expert in structural engineering, leveraging your extensive onsite experience to provide valuable guidance and support to major investor, asset manager, and developer clients.
- Conduct comprehensive technical due diligence activities, including desktop reviews and peer reviews of relevant information, to assess project viability, identify risks, and propose suitable mitigation measures.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of structural engineering and building safety principles and apply this knowledge to evaluate and enhance the safety of properties.
- Review and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of installation and remediation works carried out onsite, ensuring compliance with structural and building safety requirements.
- Utilise your expertise in structural design to evaluate and provide recommendations for the improvement of safety measures in buildings.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of applicable legislation and design guidance related to building safety, including a deep understanding of the implications of the Building Safety Act.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering. Additional certifications and accreditation
- are highly desirable.
- Extensive experience (minimum of 7 years) as a structural engineer with a strong on-site
- presence, preferably within the residential / commercial sector.
- Proven track record in conducting technical due diligence, including desktop reviews and peer reviews, to evaluate project feasibility and identify potential risks.
- In-depth knowledge of structural engineering design, and building safety principles, with the ability to apply them effectively in a practical context.
- Experience reviewing and assessing installation and remediation works onsite, ensuring
- adherence to structural and building safety requirements.
- Strong understanding of structural design and its implications for building safety.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable legislation and design guidance related to structural engineering and building safety, including knowledge of the Building Safety Act.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in structural engineering and technical advisory services.
- Strong project management abilities, including the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet deadlines.
