Role Overview:
The Clerk of Works / Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and monitoring construction activities on site on behalf of the client, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, and maintaining quality control during building, civil, and structural projects. This role includes liaising with the project team, contractors, and relevant stakeholders, and ensuring the timely and successful completion of projects in alignment with safety and quality standards.

What’s on Offer
Basic Salary; €55,000 - €60,000 with annual increments
Plus; mileage, expenses, days paid holidays plus bank holidays. Standard Working week; 39 hours Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Project Manager, design teams, contractors, local authorities, fire services, hospital management, and maintenance staff.
- Monitor on-site building, civil, and structural works to ensure compliance with contract specifications and quality standards.
- Track project progress, cost, and schedule; report on any deviations or anomalies.
- Maintain detailed site records including weather conditions, Health & Safety issues, work quality, and contractor attendance.
- Attend site meetings, take photographs, and maintain an up-to-date record of drawings and specifications.
- Produce daily diaries and weekly progress reports, documenting site activities, decisions, and issues.
- Witness and report on testing, installation, and commissioning of building systems and components.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical services and ensure they comply with contract specifications.
- Assist in the final completion of projects, including defect resolution, snagging, and handover processes.
- Facilitate the delivery of as-built records, safety files, and operational manuals.
- Support the maintenance department with effective handover arrangements and ongoing building management.
- Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to on site and address any safety concerns.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant third-level qualification in construction, civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Certification or membership with the Chartered Institute of Building or Institute of Clerk of Works is desirable.
- Minimum 7 years of experience, with at least 5 years spent on-site in a Clerk of Works role, ideally on large building projects (healthcare experience is a plus).
- In-depth knowledge of construction technology, mechanical and electrical services, and building regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Clean driving license and access to a suitable vehicle.
- Safe Pass or other relevant construction safety certifications.
