Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech & Language Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and adults with disabilities? My client is seeking a skilled professional to join their multidisciplinary team, providing essential speech and language therapy services across the Northwest and Western regions of Ireland.
About the Role
As a Speech & Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and delivering therapy interventions that enhance the communication and functional abilities of individuals with intellectual disabilities. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support children, young people, and adults with a range of disabilities, including physical, sensory, and autism-related needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language therapy assessments and interventions.
- Develop individualized treatment and support plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Provide therapy services, including communication assessments, diagnostics, and intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic and person-centered care.
- Educate and support families, caregivers, and staff on communication strategies and individual needs.
- Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with professional and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated with best practices in the field.
Essential Criteria:
- A recognised third-level qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, preferably in disability services.
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with CORU as a Speech & Language Therapist.
- Experience in delivering communication aid programs, such as Lámh.
- Valid Garda Clearance (and Overseas Clearance if applicable).
- Full driver’s license with eligibility to drive in Ireland and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working with children, adults, and families in an interdisciplinary team.
- Advanced clinical skills in assessment, intervention, and diagnostics.
