Senior Speech & Language Therapist - Good Shepherd National School, Churchtown
Senior Speech & Language Therapists required by Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with the HSE. This is a part time role (21 hours per week). Days/hours per day are negotiable.
The Junior Language class is in a mainstream primary school. The class caters for the educational and speech and language needs of children aged approximately 5 to 7 years with Developmental Language Disorder. The post holder will provide speech and language therapy input for the 7 children attending the class, working closely with the class teacher and with parents.
Job Responsibilities:
· Be responsible for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment / intervention programmes for service users according to professional standards.
· Make clinical decisions following assessment of complex cases.
· Arrange and carry out assessment and treatment / intervention programmes in appropriate settings (e.g. clinic, home, school, day centre) in line with local policy / guidelines.
· Communicate results of assessments and recommendations to the service user and relevant others as appropriate.

· Participate in and develop activities which support health promotion.
· Ensure that professional standards are maintained in relation to confidentiality, ethics and legislation.
· Operate within the scope of Speech and Language Therapy practice as per CORU requirements and in accordance with local guidelines.
· Carry out other duties as assigned by the Speech & Language Therapist Manager.
The Candidate:
· A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy with CORU registration
· Experience in a similar setting is desirable but not essential
· Permission to work in Ireland
· Professional approach to work
· Flexibility in work practice
· Minimum three years’ experience working in a staff grade role.
