Cpl are supporting a global organisation in their search for a SQL Database Engineer. We are looking for a proven DB Engineer with expertise in SQL, SQL Server, On-Prem to Cloud Migrations and Database Management.
The role is Dublin based but offered on a hybrid basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the current system expert to quickly understand existing SQL stored procedures and processes.
- Take ownership of a legacy SQL system, ensuring its stability and effective operation.
- Identify and implement optimizations to improve system performance and reliability.
- Develop clear and comprehensive documentation using modern documentation methods.
- Analyze complex stored procedures to extract and document business rules and logic.
- Provide ongoing support for the existing system during the transition to a new platform.
Experience
- 5-10 years of commercial experience
- Expert SQL Server and complex stored procedures
- Databricks experience very nice to have
- Experience in maintaining and optimizing existing database solutions
- Experienced in on-prem to cloud migrations
