Our client The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes. It also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
Summary:
· Supervise corporate income tax return compliance.
· Ensure timely completion and filing of all tax returns.
· Assist Senior Management with global mobility-related issues.
· Aid Senior Management in addressing internal and external tax inquiries and audits.
· Assist in preparing local and master transfer pricing files.
· Stay updated on changes in local tax legislation.
· Conduct ad-hoc research on emerging tax issues.
· Organise Training for LDA staff on Tax
· Co-ordinate transaction advice and liaise with external tax advisor
· Contribute to the tax strategy and corporate goals of the LDA
· Build out tax control framework
· Create and keep up to date Policies, Procedures and Process across all tax heads
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The tax manager is a key role in the LDA Finance Function reporting directly to the CFO. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that tax compliance and tax strategy are embedded in the LDA. A key liaison with all business units on tax matters across all tax heads in the LDA with the assistance of external tax advisors.
Requirements:
· Hold a professional tax qualification (AITI/CTA or equivalent), ideally with an accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
· Possess PQE tax experience with a Big 4 or Top 10 public accounting firm and/or multinational corporation preferred.
· Advanced knowledge of tax accounting, audit processes, and tax law.
· Excellent drafting, communication, and organizational skills.
· Demonstrate high motivation and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with colleagues, external advisors, and key stakeholders.
