Role Overview
My Client delivers IT services and support across the organisation and to Local Authority users. The IT Value & Performance team oversees financial management, compliance, vendor relations, and operational contracts, playing a key role in managing IT spend and ensuring adherence to corporate policies.
Reporting to the IT Contracts Performance Manager, the IT Telecoms Commercial Lead is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing spend, ensuring invoice accuracy and value maximization from contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor telecoms spend, validate invoices, and align spending with contracts.
- Ensure value for money and manage vendor relationships, including contract reviews.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for new connection requests and manage vendor escalations.
- Oversee application of credits, provide monthly spend reports, and support audits.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, including Service Level Agreements.
- Track IT risks, controls, efficiencies, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Contribute to IT financial planning, benchmarking, and transparency.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum five years’ experience, ideally in commercial contract management or telecoms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven experience in vendor management and presenting technical topics to diverse audiences.
- Understanding of business operations and the commercial impact of decisions.
- Experience in utilities or regulated industries is an advantage.
- Degree or relevant qualification preferred.
