Computational Linguist with French - Text to Speech
Location: Dublin, Ireland (Remote after training)
Our client is a trusted outsourcing partner for leading global organizations, specializing in innovative solutions for nearly 20 years. Our client, a global social networking company, develops applications for mobile and desktop platforms.
We are seeking a Computational Linguist to enhance Text to Speech (TTS) quality in French. You will focus on text normalization, pronunciation prediction, and identifying language-specific issues.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain regression and text normalization test sets.
· Source and vet datasets for training.
· Create text normalization rules in JavaScript.
· Maintain pronunciation golden sets for G2P evaluation.
· Identify and solve language-specific issues (e.g., grammatical gender, word stress).
· Perform audio evaluations and fix frontend bugs post-launch.
Candidate Profile:
· Native or near-native French speaker (C1/C2).
· Advanced English proficiency (C1/C2).
· Degree in Linguistics or related field.
· Knowledge of the International Phonetic Alphabet.
· Experience with Linux/Ubuntu and Python.
