TRP development role:
The role:
The customer is implementing a Cyber Recovery solution (to protect against logical corruption incidents such as ransomware) using Dell Storage and backup products. As part of the programme Runbooks are required which describe how the customer's important IT services will be recovered, as part of these Runbooks, Kyndryl as the infrastructure provider have been contracted to develop Kyndryl Technical Recovery Plans (TRPs) which document how the Kyndryl managed infrastructure (e.g. OS/Databases/Middleware) that supports the customer IT services will be restored, recovered, validated and handed over to the customers application support teams.
So far we have developed 28 of these plans with another 70 to be developed, so many of the processes are already established.
Development of the TRPs involves: discovery using available information (CMDB, DR Plans etc), working with Kyndryl BAU teams to understand and document the recovery, review and approval with Kyndryl and customer stakeholders, participating in desktop walkthrough exercises of the TRPs.
Skills required:
•
Experience of producing Runbooks, preferably Recovery / Disaster Recovery type documents.
•
Broad understanding of technical infrastructure - the customer estate contains: Windows / Linux / AIX / Solaris / AS400 / Mainframe / VMware / Oracle / DB2 / SQL / Exchange - so knowledge and experience around some of these, not to the level of administering systems, but aware of the architecture and concepts.
•
Ability to communicate and work effectively with Kyndryl technical SMEs, and challenge them where required
•
Ability to work on multiple documents simultaneously, good organisational skills
•
Ability to produce high quality documents with good attention to detail, as these documents are extensively reviewed
