Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, a non-profit homeless services provider, are seeking energic and enthusiastic individuals to join their team in Limerick.
The Role:
The purpose of this role is to provide a support service within Limerick Homeless Action Team, that is both structured and practical, to assist predominately young people who are in homeless accommodation with the aim of identifying pathways into long term suitable accommodation.
Your Duties Will Include:
- Provide assessment and advice to people who are homeless.
- Enable and assist clients to source suitable private rented accommodation.
- Work with clients placed in emergency facilities with a view to securing long term accommodation.
- Assist clients in settling into accommodation.
- Receive and act upon referrals submitted via the interdisciplinary referral protocol.
- Assist persons who are eligible for social housing, providing information and assistance in presenting the application.
- Investigate cases thoroughly on behalf of Limerick City and County Council Limerick.
- Increase access to health and social services for those experiencing homelessness.
- Create and maintain files and records of clients.
Candidate Requirements/Experience:
- Relevant Third Level qualification at degree level i.e. social care, psychology, sociology.
- Ability to deal with challenging behaviour.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to display flexibility in the role.
- Full clean driver’s license with access to a car.
- Experience of:
- Working in a social care setting.
- Working with young people between 18 – 23 years.
- Dealing with child protection and welfare responsibilities and responding appropriately to any concerns.
- Carrying out assessments, including risk assessments.
- Developing support plans and carrying out reviews.
