The Land Development Agency

The Land Development Agency (LDA), a key Government initiative for housing delivery, is hiring across a range of roles to support in the provision of affordable and social homes throughout Ireland.

These exciting opportunities will play a key part in delivering a project of national significance, facilitating a more stable and sustainable supply of land for housing across the country.

Established in 2018, the LDA’s purpose is to maximise the supply of affordable and social homes in Ireland in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering positive social impact.

Through their Affordable Living Programme, the organisation will aim to meet the need for affordable homes nationwide, providing solutions for both purchase and rent.

Current and Upcoming Projects

Delivery Stage:
  • 597 units at Shanganagh Castle, Shankill

  • 265 units at St. Kevin’s, Cork City

Planning Stage:
  • C. 1,000 units in Dundrum Central

  • C. 800 units in Castlelands, Balbriggan

  • C. 540 units in Donore Project, Dublin 8

  • C. 345 units in Hacketstown, Skerries

  • C. 220 units in Devoy Barracks, Naas

How this will be achieved

The LDA will improve the way the housing market functions by:

  • Working with state bodies and local authorities to make more effective use of State lands, providing a stable, sustainable supply of land for housing

  • Improving the planning system to facilitate State lands being used for housing

  • Acquiring and developing land in a selective, targeted way that boosts housing supply

  • Delivering affordable and cost rental market initiatives for mass-market tenure

  • Investing in research and innovation to identify new and better ways to deliver new homes

  • Providing high-level expertise underpinned by robust governance
