The Role: GIS Developer – Strategic Planning Team
As part of the Strategic Planning Team, you will collaborate with development professionals on diverse projects. Your focus will include mapping, data analysis, and advancing the Register of Relevant Public Lands. This role is pivotal in enabling evidence-based decision-making through geospatial insights.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver geospatial applications, products, and services.
- Collect, manage, and analyze data while promoting GIS technology to support decision-making.
- Integrate mapping components into existing reporting and web applications.
- Create cartographic materials, maps, charts, and data visualizations for presentations.
- Debug, test, and fine-tune GIS applications for optimal performance.
- Develop documentation and procedures for GIS projects.
- Work with key data partners, including state bodies, government departments, and local authorities.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years of GIS development experience.
- A degree in GIS, geography, geomatics, planning, or a related field with a strong GIS component.
- Proficiency in ESRI Desktop suite and IT systems.
- Familiarity with the LDA’s GIS platform, including ArcGIS for Server, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro.
- Experience with relational databases and ESRI Datastores.
