Buyer/Planner
My client, a multinational medical device and health care company is looking to recruit a Buyer/Planner for their Sligo base. Daily activities will be broadly defined by impact goals and supervision is received through meetings and one on one meeting with the Planning & Purchasing Manager. Periodic goal reviews, annual performance and career development reviews will also occur. The Buyer/Planner will report directly to the Planning and Purchasing Manager and will be given authority to carry out duties without close supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for MPS & MRP for raw material, intermediate and finished goods.
- Manage the Purchasing function to ensure material supply in line with plant schedules.
- Co-ordinate the purchasing process and work with NPI activities.
- BOM / Item Master Management.
- CRM and primary point of contact for distribution centre.
- Scenario planning.
- Co-ordinate materials aspect for NPI’s.
- Work with Supply chain members to meet target performance on KPI`s.
- Inventory Management and Control.
- Liaise with transportation companies regarding deliveries.
- Schedule deliveries within warehouse capacities.
- Project implementation in line with specific goals.
- The position will require communication with the following:
- Contacts with all levels of management within the plant.
- Contacts with personnel in other affiliates especially in planning shipping/distribution/marketing.
- Co-ordinate purchased materials to support production and meet product cost within the framework of Code of Business and applicable laws.
- Co-ordinate purchase of non-inventory items required to meet plant operation at lowest total cost of ownership levels.
EHS Responsibilities:
- Ensure Environmental Health & Safety standards are met and all EHS regulations and procedures are adhered to.
- Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for EHS performance and compliance through active participation and support of our EHS Program.
- Ensure to report any work related injuries or illness to employee health and assist in the investigation.
- Active participation and support our EHS programs and attend EHS training as assigned.
Requirements:
- Certificate/Diploma/Degree in a related discipline, or IPICS / IIPMM. Appropriate qualification in either Purchasing/ Production Planning e.g. Diploma in Purchasing or relevant APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) examinations.
- Excellent Computer skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail.
- At least two years' experience in supply chain/production planning.
- A high level of expertise is required in solving scheduling, logistics, expediting and purchasing problems.
