The job : CAD-Detail Engineer for shipbuilding equipment
Our client has over 150 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry. They specialise in designing and producing maritime equipment such as steering, rudder, control, and maneuvering systems, winches, superyachts, and more. The company also provides spare parts, installation, repair, maintenance, and other services.
Responsibilities:
- Engineering development of shipbuilding components (rudders, steering gears, nozzles etc.) with subject to related classification construction rules as well as customized shipbuilding structures.
- Generating of 3D- and 2D-CAD models, general and workshop drawings, structural calculations and FE-analysis as well as technical documentaries,
- Technical project management and coordination with our internal and external project team, international manufacturing and supply partners as well as classification societies and our customers on the global market.
- Managing and supporting the approval process of our engineering design at related classification societies.
- Project-related international correspondence and communication.
- Supporting of other company departments in technical questions
Requirements
- Fluent in English (C1/C2) and at least B2 German
- Graduated from mechanical or maritime engineering (B.Sc./M.Sc./Dipl.Ing.)
- 2-5 years Professional experience in a similar position ideally in the maritime environment
- Very good CAD knowledge in 2D and 3D (desirable Solid Works and ACAD or comparable) as well as experience with related PDM systems
- Experience in layout of maritime components and with FE analysis desirable,
- Very good technical understanding and experience in dealing with technical documentations
